My Projects

A word I use a lot is "achieve" and I'm certainly not a very happy little vegemite (an Australian expression) unless I have goals to achieve... although there are times when I have far too many going at the same time!

I believe that the secret to "staying on top of things" is to always keep yourself occupied with achievable goals... don't allow yourself the time to grizzle or moan about the things that you cannot do. Instead, concentrate on doing the things you CAN do as well as the next person - only try to do them better!!

Currently, my projects include the completion of my life story... already written but in need of some 'fine tuning' before being submitted to a publisher (are there any writers out there willing to lend a hand in return for an equal share of any profits?). If I can't find a publisher within a few months I will probably consider self publishing.

Another project under way is to complete a CD-ROM of my book, The Wheelie's Handbook of Australia, which has been updated with websites and email addresses.

A third project is to sort through the hundreds of slides taken by my father and left to me when he died in 2005. They are stored in an old suitcase which is jam-packed with photographs of family, holidays, pets, etc., and my hope is to find the time to select a chosen few as keepsakes.

Before the year is over I also plan to arrange a reunion of local bands and entertainers from the 60's and 70's when I managed my own entertainment agency known as BAMPA (Bendigo Artists Management & Promotions Agency). This, in itself, will be a huge task as I try to find contacts and addresses of as many musicians/performers as possible who may still be interested in getting together for an afternoon (or evening) of nostalgia.

If time allows, I would like to record a final album of songs (both new and old) with my dear brother/musician Geoff. This has long been a dream of mine and I believe I now have enough new material to produce a reasonably good CD to round off my performing/recording career.

Finally, but probably with the highest priority of all, is to seek out my 'soul mate' to share all the above adventures with... after living alone for almost six years I believe it's high time to 'move on' in this area.
